ENGINEERED IN VISTA, FOR THE WAY ITALIAN CYCLING STARTED

A modern race-gravel platform for terrain that doesn't choose between road and dirt. Toray T800/T1000 carbon, 700 by 52C clearance, race geometry, for the way Italian cycling started, brought into a new century.

Three riders on a dirt road through wooded terrain, early 1900s, the original gravel was just the road

Italian road racing, 1900s

THE ORIGINAL GRAVEL WAS JUST THE ROAD

When Faliero brazed his first frame in 1926, asphalt was the exception, not the rule. Tuscany's strade bianche, the white roads, connected every village to every other. The Giro d'Italia ran on them. The Tour de France ran on them. Paris to Roubaix still does. Every champion who climbed onto a Masi at the Vigorelli rode dirt, cobbles, broken tarmac, and washboard farm tracks as part of their normal day.

What we now call gravel is what cycling has always been. The Oltre Strada is Masi remembering that.

A MODERN RACE BIKE FOR TERRAIN THAT HASN'T CHANGED

Designed and engineered in Vista, the Oltre Strada is the first thoroughbred race-gravel platform from the modern Masi team. Race geometry: 71 degree head angle, 590mm stack at size 54, sharpened for the way the discipline is actually ridden. Long days. Mixed surfaces. Mountain descents at speed. Sprint finishes on dirt.

Toray T800/T1000 monocoque carbon. T47 threaded bottom bracket. UDH-compatible rear dropout. D-Fuse seatpost that flexes in the right axis and stays stiff in every other. Internal cable routing through the head tube. 700 by 52C tire clearance, and 650b by 2.1 inch for the days the road becomes a trail.

RACE CONDITIONS, RACE INSTINCTS, RACE LINE

The brief that has shaped every Masi since 1926, race conditions, race instincts, race line, works for gravel the same way it worked for steel and the Vigorelli. The line of the road, the geometry of the rider, the discipline of the ride. The road, when it is not a road, is gravel. The Oltre Strada is Masi for that road.
